2012 CC Downtown Light Parade & Tree Lighting

Even though the sky was a little heavy with drizzle, it didn't dampen the spirits of the hundreds of people and their families who wanted to see the awesome light parade. Put on by the Sigma Nu Sorority, Crescent City JayCees and the City of Crescent City, parade goers were treated to dozens of brightly lit floats from many local businesses, organizations and, of course, our local fire houses.

The parade wound its way through Downtown and ended in front of the Del Norte Library and Tsunami Plaza where the crowds were greeted by Christmas carols sung by the Del Norte High School Madrigal Choir. It was a short wait until Miss Del Norte Amy Ramirez with some help from the crowd counting down, lit the Crescent City Christmas Tree.

As the excitement of the parade and tree lighting simmered down a bit as most of the crowd went on their merry way, the children waited patiently and most excitedly for their turn to sit on Santa's lap and tell him their Christmas wishes.
